
1/4 cup green pepper, chopped
1 can (4 oz) mushroom stems and pieces, drained (reserve liquid)
1/3 cup olive oil
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1-1/2 cups milk
1-1/4 cups chicken broth
1 cup cooked peas
2 cups cut-up cooked turkey (or 1 pound cooked ground turkey)
Serve over: Corn Bread, Baking powder biscuits, noodles, mashed potatoes, or rice.
Cook and stir green pepper and mushrooms in olive oil in 3-quart saucepan over medium heat 5 minutes. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until bubbly; remove from heat. Stir in milk, broth and reserved mushroom liquid. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute. Stir in peas and turkey; heat until hot.
