• Butter is commonly sold in sticks (pictured 4 oz/110 g) or blocks, and frequently served with the use of a butter knife.

       
        1  cup soft butter
    3/4  cup powdered sugar
        2  cups flour
    1/2  teaspoon baking powder
    1/8  teaspoon salt

    In large mixing bowl combine butter and powdered sugar.  In another bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt.  Add flour mixture to butter mixture.  With hands mix until well blended.  Dough will be soft.  Pat dough evenly into 9 inch pie pan.  With fork prick dough many times.  Bake at 325F for 45 minutes until golden brown.  While still warm sprinkle with powdered sugar and cut into 12 wedges.
